About us

Andy and Alex

Founded in 2020 by Andrew Mitchell and Alex Canning, Neatt was born from a vision to create a dynamic and agile product design agency that provides comprehensive product development services to its clients.

With 15 years of innovative and high-growth experience at Dyson, Andrew and Alex have built a solid reputation and an extensive network of expert contacts.

The team are passionate about empowering their clients to innovate continuously, ensuring they stay ahead of the competition and achieve sustainable growth.

Neatt offers a holistic design service that guides clients from the initial spark of inspiration – perhaps that quick sketch on a napkin – all the way to a tangible, functional product ready for manufacture. Their deep industry knowledge and connections enable them to deliver exceptional results.

The Neatt team thrives on the exciting work they do, collaborating with clients who share their ambition to blaze new trails and innovate sustainably, all while meeting deadlines and budget requirements.

As Neatt continues to grow, they are committed to attracting more design talent and launching an array of exciting products for their clients.

Andrew, Alex, and the entire team are eager to take on new challenges, driving creativity and excellence in every project.

Our core values

We are creative

At Neatt, we pride ourselves on being creative innovators in the fields of product design and mechanical engineering. We believe that exploring new ideas is essential for businesses to rise above the competition. This approach allows us to tackle challenges that others often overlook, ensuring we provide unique solutions that drive success.

We are committed

Our commitment is unwavering. We face obstacles head-on and never shy away from challenges. While innovation can be demanding, it’s also incredibly rewarding. We are dedicated to identifying new opportunities in prototyping and manufacturing, always striving to maintain our vision rather than settling for an easy path. The final push to bring products into production is immensely satisfying, especially when we share the joy with our clients as they hold the tangible results of what began as a simple dream.

We are curious

Curiosity is at the heart of our work. We constantly question the status quo, eager to challenge norms and disrupt the industry. We believe boundaries are just limits we impose on ourselves, and at Neatt, we view possibilities as infinite. When collaborating with clients on product design, one of the most important questions we ask is, “Why?” Understanding our clients’ vision and the purpose behind their product helps us create designs that truly resonate.

Sustainability

At Neatt, our pioneering spirit drives everything we do. We innovate not just for today but for a sustainable future that leaves a legacy. A key part of our ethos is future proofing; we believe that every product we design should consider it’s effect on the environment.

We incorporate sustainability into all our work, using a variety of materials, including recycled plastics and biomaterials like PLA, PHA-based bioplastics, and algae EVAs. Our expertise allows us to identify the strengths and weaknesses of these materials, ensuring the best match for your product design and brief.

Additionally, we collaborate with you to develop effective sales and marketing messaging that aligns with your sustainable claims.

With Neatt, you can be confident that your product design will not only meet current needs but also positively impact the future.

Andrew is a design engineer with a strong foundation in CAD, prototyping and visual communication. Since joining Neatt in 2022, he has brought a fresh, hands‑on approach to concept development, 3D modelling and prototype build, helping ideas take shape quickly and effectively.

He is continually expanding his skills in rendering, animation and advanced CAD workflows to strengthen how Neatt explores and communicates design intent. Curious, detail‑driven and engaged, Andrew plays a key role in bridging ideation and execution, refining geometry, building functional rigs and producing clear, compelling visuals that support confident decision‑making.

Chris is a modelmaker and engineer with a natural talent for turning ideas into beautifully crafted, functional prototypes. His imaginative approach and strong engineering mindset drive a hands‑on process of making, testing and refining.

Before joining Neatt, he spent five years at Dyson across Design Engineering and Design Modelling, developing early mechanisms, prototypes and high‑fidelity models. His experience also includes film and TV work at Pinewood Studios on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and with specialist prop houses. At Neatt, Chris bridges imagination and engineering reality, bringing energy, curiosity and exceptional attention to detail to every project.

Dan is a design engineer driven by the belief that good design should improve people’s lives. Not only in how a product works, but in how it feels, behaves and fits into everyday routines. This mindset fuels his hands‑on approach, exploring ideas through making, testing and refining.

As one of the more junior members of the team, Dan brings experience in industrial design, rapid prototyping, model making and mechanical development. At Neatt, he helps turn ideas into tangible, testable realities. His blend of creativity, precision and craftsmanship ensures the products we design are both functional and meaningful.

Steve is a product and category innovation specialist with a unique mix of engineering depth, global market experience and a talent for making complex technology feel simple.

Over 14 years at Dyson, he worked across engineering, category development and Commercial Engineering for Beauty, contributing to everything from early concepts to global launches, insight missions and hands‑on user testing. His work took him across the Middle East and Asia, including a year in Tokyo with Dyson Japan. At Neatt, Steve connects technical rigour with real‑world insight, shaping user‑focused products and category experiences from first idea to global launch.

Andy is a product design engineer with a passion for building high‑quality user experiences through a hands‑on, prototype‑driven approach. With experience across mechanical and electro‑mechanical development, he excels at turning early ideas into validated, manufacturable designs.

Before joining Neatt, he spent nearly five years at Dyson working on sensing technologies, user‑interface concepts and early‑stage innovation, and previously contributed to next‑generation play and robotics projects at LEGO in Denmark. A lifelong maker, Andy brings strong rapid‑prototyping skills, blending SolidWorks expertise with real‑world testing to uncover insights CAD alone can’t. At Neatt, he helps develop robust concepts and drive projects forward.

He’s collaborative, curious, and happiest with tools in hand.

Rebecca is a senior industrial designer and operations manager who balances creative exploration with organised, efficient delivery.

Equally confident shaping early concepts or steering internal processes, she ensures projects run smoothly and clients feel supported. Before Neatt, Rebecca spent 5 years working at Cannondale delivering award-winning and patented designs while working closely with global suppliers and manufacturing teams.

She then ran her own design practice, gaining experience across client management, production oversight and commercial planning. Her work spans cycling, outdoor adventure sports and electric mobility, including award‑winning and patented products. Rebecca brings strong prototyping, supplier collaboration and category‑wide experience, supporting Neatt across planning, policy implementation, client communication and day‑to‑day operations.

Before starting Neatt, Alex spent nearly two decades at Dyson, leading engineering teams across battery systems, sensing technologies, water tanks, docking stations and more. Known for calm leadership and disciplined engineering, he managed large cross‑functional teams and was selected for Dyson’s Connected Leader Programme.

At Neatt, Alex brings deep engineering expertise paired with strong design sensitivity. Skilled across manufacturing techniques from injection moulding and metal extrusion to PCB design and assembly, he ensures ideas don’t just look good but perform and scale. His focus is helping clients make confident decisions, solve complex problems, and deliver robust, well‑engineered products.

Before co‑founding Neatt Andy spent nearly two decades at Dyson, where he led multi‑disciplinary teams and delivered some of the company’s most successful products.

At Neatt, Andy combines deep technical understanding with a strategic, user‑first mindset. He helps clients define the right product to build, then guides them through every stage of delivery. His hands-on experience spans design engineering, product strategy, and leading large teams across hardware, software, and manufacturing partnerships in the Far East.

Passionate and highly collaborative, Andy is known for his ability to motivate teams, simplify complexity, and keep projects moving with clarity and purpose. Outside of Neatt, he enjoys …..
