LGI tasked Neatt with designing a compact, innovative dispenser capable of securely holding LED markers while enabling automatic activation upon ejection. With a compact timeline to take the dispenser from concept to production, we were more than ready to rise to the challenge.

LGI had developed LED battery-powered markers for NATO and emergency services personnel, providing a reliable means to create safe pathways instantly, in any setting.

The dispenser needed to be compact, durable, and reliable, even in demanding conditions. It was essential that the device be ergonomic, user-friendly, and operable while wearing gloves. We focused on optimising the design by minimising component count, reducing tooling investment, and ensuring smooth operation.

After presenting LGI with a range of mechanism concepts, we developed prototypes for testing and refinement, progressing to a production-ready design.

Leveraging our extensive network, we sourced the ideal manufacturing partner for LGI and oversaw pre-production, injection mould tool commissioning, and final approvals – ensuring LGI’s product was production-ready and fit for its critical purpose.

From concept to manufacture, we’re proud to have illuminated the path forward with LGI!

“When we decided to develop our thoughts on the Advanced Illuminated Marking System, we wanted to work with an agile and creative team of designers. We spoke to several companies, but it was Neatt who offered the creative thought process we were looking for. I would recommend Neatt to any organisation and would be happy to offer a reference if required.”

Andrew Steytler

Andrew Steytler, one of our Design Engineers.

Andrew is a Design Engineer with a strong foundation in CAD, prototyping and visual communication.

Since joining Neatt, he has brought a fresh, hands‑on approach to concept development, 3D modelling and prototype building.

Outside of work Andrew enjoys touring the English countryside on his motorbike and is always on the look-out out for his next adventure. When he’s not on his bike or blitzing through CAD (yes he loves CAD that much), you’ll usually find him off the east coast of South Africa, spearfishing.

Dan Marshall

Dan is one of our Design Engineers.

Dan is driven by the belief that good design should improve people’s lives.

This mindset fuels his hands‑on approach, exploring ideas through making, testing and refining.

Dan brings experience in industrial design, rapid prototyping, model making and mechanical development.

Outside of work Dan enjoys fixing stuff. Whether it’s old electronic devices that need bringing back to life, or servicing and modifying his car.

When he finds himself without something to fix, Dan enjoys being out walking, running or cycling in the Lake District or somewhere in Scotland.

Steve Williamson

Steve is Our Design Manager.

Steve is a product innovation specialist with a unique mix of engineering knowledge and global market experience.

Over 14 years at Dyson, he worked across engineering, category development and commercial engineering.

Steve contributed to everything from early concepts to global launches, insight missions and hands‑on user testing.

At Neatt, Steve connects technical rigour with real‑world insight designing the right thing before designing it right.

Outside of work, Steve enjoys a busy and active social life. He skis whenever he can and is currently on a mission to visit as many different foreign countries as time allows.

Andy Warrington

Andy Warrington, our Senior Design & Electronics Engineer.

With experience across mechanical engineering, integrated electronics and connected devices development, He is a valued member of our team.

Before joining Neatt, Andy worked at both Dyson & LEGO. His areas of expertise spanned sensing technologies, UI concepts and Robotics.

A lifelong maker, Andy brings strong rapid‑prototyping skills to our projects, helping prove principles early.

Outside of work Andy’s hobbies are mountain biking, water sports and the never-ending job of converting his van into a campervan.

Rebecca Crowder

Rebecca is a Senior Industrial Designer and our Operations Manager.

Confident shaping early concepts or refining processes, she blends creativity with organised realism.

Before Neatt, Rebecca spent five years at Cannondale, designing award‑winning and patented products while working closely with global suppliers.

Prior to that, she ran her own design business, gaining experience across client management, production oversight and operations.

Rebecca brings strong design, prototyping, and client relation skills, supporting planning, processes and project management.

Outside work, Rebecca likes to keep active. She enjoys Ashtanga yoga, cycling, long walks, and coastal camping adventures with her young family.

Alex Canning

Alex Canning is our Engineering Director and co‑founder.

Alex spent nearly two decades at Dyson, leading large multi-disciplinary teams in new product innovation.

At Neatt, Alex blends his hard-earned engineering expertise with strong design and manufacturing principles.

His focus is helping clients make confident decisions, solve complex problems, and deliver robust, well-engineered products.

Outside of work he’s a self-confessed exercise nerd, and is currently working toward a sub‑3‑hour marathon. He also enjoys surfing and racing toy cars with his two sons.

Andy Mitchell

Andy Mitchell is our Design Director and one of our co-founders.

Andy spent nearly two decades at Dyson, leading multi‑disciplinary teams and delivered some of the company’s most successful products.

At Neatt, Andy combines his unwavering technical understanding with a strategic, consumer‑first mindset.

He helps clients define the right product to build, then guides them through every stage of delivery.
